Mumbai Biker, 24, Dies After Trailer Hits Her in Chhattisgarh; Was Riding With 22 Other Women
Mumbai, 13th August 2026: A 24-year-old woman from Mumbai died after her motorcycle was hit by a trailer in Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari district on Tuesday. The accident took place near Marka Tola village on National Highway 30.
The deceased has been identified as Riddhi Thakkar, a resident of Kandivali West in Mumbai. She was travelling from Mumbai towards Bastar as part of a group of 23 women bikers when the accident occurred.
According to the information available, a trailer travelling in the opposite direction collided with Thakkar’s motorcycle, leaving her seriously injured. Following the accident, an emergency call was made to 112.
Thakkar was initially taken to a health centre in Charama for treatment. As her condition deteriorated, she was shifted to a private hospital in Dhamtari. Doctors later examined her and confirmed that she had succumbed to her injuries.
Her body was subsequently taken to Dhamtari district hospital for a post-mortem examination. After completion of the necessary formalities, the body is expected to be handed over to her family.
Police have registered a case in connection with the accident and are questioning the other members of the motorcycle group as part of the investigation.
Following the incident, the Mayor of Dhamtari Municipal Corporation reached the accident spot and informed Thakkar’s family about the incident. He also assured them that all possible assistance would be provided.
The exact circumstances leading to the collision are being investigated by the police.
