Mumbai Cricket Association President Amol Kale Passes Away During India-Pakistan T20 World Cup Match

Mumbai, 11th June 2024: Amol Kale, the president of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), tragically passed away in New York due to a cardiac arrest while attending the India-Pakistan T20 World Cup match. Alongside MCA secretary Ajinkya Naik and apex council member Suraj Samat, Kale had embarked on the trip to witness the game.

At 47, Kale assumed the presidency of the MCA in 2022, securing victory over former Indian cricketer Sandeep Patil for the esteemed position. Hailing from Nagpur, Kale maintained a close association with Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis.

During his tenure, the MCA made significant decisions, including the revision of domestic player fees and the installation of a statue honouring cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

Beyond cricket administration, Kale served as a member of the Tirupati Balaji Devasthan Trust in Andhra Pradesh for three consecutive years. Notably, he played a pivotal role in facilitating land acquisition for the Lord Shri Venkateswara Temple in Ulwe, Navi Mumbai.
