Mumbai: Fifth Arrest Made in Salman Khan Residence Shooting Case

Mumbai, 7th May 2024: In Mumbai, a new arrest has been made in connection with the shooting incident outside actor Salman Khan’s residence last month. The fifth accused, Mohammad Rafiq Chaudhary, was apprehended in Rajasthan, accused not only of direct involvement in the firing but also of financing the operation. With this, a total of five individuals have been arrested about the incident.

However, the case has taken a grim turn following the death of one of the accused, Anuj Thapan, while in police custody. Thapan’s family has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court, seeking a CBI probe into his death. They refute the police’s claim of suicide, alleging foul play and physical assault during Thapan’s detention.

In addition to Thapan, Sonu Bishnoi, Sagar Pal, and Vicky Gupta have also been arrested in connection with the shooting. Thapan and Bishnoi were apprehended on April 26 from Punjab, accused of procurement and supply of firearms used in the incident.
