Mumbai Local Mega Block on October 4: CSMT-Vidhyavihar, Panvel-Vashi Services Hit

Mumbai, 2nd October 2026: Central Railway’s Mumbai Division will operate a mega block on Sunday, October 4, 2026, on key suburban sections of the Main Line and Harbour Line for engineering and maintenance works.

The block will affect slow-line services between CSMT and Vidhyavihar on the Main Line and Harbour Line services between Panvel and Vashi. Several local trains will be diverted or cancelled during the block period, while special services will be operated on selected routes.

Main Line block from 10.55 am to 3.55 pm

The UP and DOWN slow lines between CSMT and Vidhyavihar will remain blocked from 10.55 am to 3.55 pm.

DOWN slow-line services departing CSMT between 10.48 am and 3.45 pm will be diverted onto the DOWN fast line between CSMT and Vidhyavihar. These trains will halt at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion and Kurla before being diverted back to the DOWN slow line at Vidhyavihar.

UP slow-line services departing Ghatkopar between 10.19 am and 3.52 pm will be diverted onto the UP fast line between Vidhyavihar and CSMT. These services will halt at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel and Byculla.

Harbour Line services to remain cancelled

The UP and DOWN Harbour lines between Panvel and Vashi, excluding the PORT line, will remain blocked from 11.05 am to 4.05 pm.

On the Harbour Line, UP services towards CSMT departing Panvel between 10.33 am and 3.49 pm will remain cancelled. DOWN services towards Belapur/Panvel departing CSMT between 9.45 am and 3.12 pm will also remain cancelled.

Special local trains will be operated between CSMT and Vashi during the block period.

Trans-Harbour services affected

UP Trans-Harbour services towards Thane departing Panvel between 11.02 am and 3.53 pm will remain cancelled.

Similarly, DOWN Trans-Harbour services towards Panvel departing Thane between 10.01 am and 3.20 pm will remain cancelled.

However, Trans-Harbour services will continue to operate between Thane and Vashi/Nerul during the block period.

PORT line services to continue

The PORT line services will remain available during the mega block.

Passengers travelling on the affected suburban sections on Sunday have been advised to take note of the revised service pattern and plan their travel accordingly.
