Mumbai: MHADA Announces 2,030 Affordable Homes for 2024 Lottery; Applications Open August 9
Mumbai, 7th August 2024: On August 7, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) announced the availability of 2,030 affordable homes for the MHADA Lottery 2024. The official advertisement for the housing scheme will be released on August 8, and online applications will start being accepted from August 9.
The deadline for submitting applications for the MHADA Lottery 2024 is September 4 at 11:45 pm. The results of the lottery will be announced on September 13 at 11 am.
This year’s lottery will feature the largest number of homes, with nearly 768 units available in the Middle Income Group (MIG) category out of the total 2,030 homes. The second-largest allocation is 627 apartments for the Lower Income Group (LIG). The Economic Weaker Section (EWS) will have 359 apartments, and the Higher Income Group (HIG) will have over 276 units, as detailed by MHADA.
The MIG category primarily includes 2 BHK apartments, while 1 BHK units are offered in the LIG and EWS categories. The HIG category features the largest 3 BHK apartments. Pricing varies by location, as noted by MHADA officials.
Eligibility for the lottery is determined by income levels:
– EWS category: Annual family income up to ₹6 lakh.
– LIG category: Annual family income between ₹6 lakh and ₹9 lakh.
– MIG category: Annual family income between ₹9 lakh and ₹12 lakh.
– HIG category: Annual family income above ₹12 lakh.
For the lottery, family income includes both spouses’ earnings but excludes the income of parents or siblings.
The homes available in the lottery are spread across various locations, including Vikhroli, Malad, Goregaon, Powai, and Wadala.
Prices for homes in the EWS category generally start around ₹30 lakh, while 3 BHK apartments in the HIG category can exceed ₹1 crore. Final pricing details will be announced on August 8.
Applications for the MHADA Lottery 2024 must be submitted online. Interested buyers can track updates and apply through the MHADA website at https://housing.mhada.gov.in/ or via the MHADA mobile application, where they need to complete registration before applying.
