Mumbai-Nashik Highway Pothole Claim Heroic TDRF Jawan’s Life, Sparking Local Outrage
Thane, 3rd August 2026: A Thane Disaster Response Force (TDRF) personnel passed away in a road accident on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway, near the Bharangi River bridge in Shahapur Taluka.
31-year-old Vikas Lahu Gore, a TDRF constable, was on his way to work from Bamne Village on his bike. Authorities report that the bike lost control after going through a large pothole and crashed into the road divider. Vikas, having incurred severe injuries, was rushed to the Shahapur Sub-district Hospital by nearby locals almost immediately, where he died during treatment.
Vikas Gore was one of the TDRF officials involved in the emergency evacuation and rescue operation during the Kohinoor Building collapse in Bhiwandi.
Gore’s demise has sparked outrage among residents, with locals demanding immediate action and repair of the dangerous Mumbai-Nashik Highway potholes.
