Mumbai Resident Finds Human Finger in Butterscotch Ice Cream, Sparks Police Probe
Mumbai, 13th June 2024: In Mumbai, a man reported a disturbing discovery of a human finger in an ice cream cone he purchased from Yummo Ice Creams. Dr. Orlem Brandon Serrao, a resident of Malad, recounted the incident, stating that he ordered the ice cream online and initially mistook the finger for a nut.
Dr. Serrao, describing his experience, shared that after consuming half of the butterscotch ice cream, he felt a solid object in his mouth. He spat it out, suspecting it could be a nut or chocolate piece, but upon closer examination, recognized it as a human finger. Given his medical background, he identified nail and fingerprint impressions on the object, resembling a thumb, which left him deeply traumatized.
Immediately after making the discovery, Dr. Serrao preserved the finger in an ice pack and promptly reported the incident to the Malad police. A photograph depicting the protruding finger from the ice cream cone circulated widely online, prompting swift action from authorities.
In response, a case has been filed against Yummo Ice Creams, alleging food adulteration and endangerment to human life. The ice cream in question has been seized for investigation, with forensic experts conducting analysis on the finger to ascertain its origin and how it came to be in the food product.
