Mumbai: Titwala Rail Block to Disrupt Mumbai Local and Express Services on September 10-11
Mumbai, 9th September 2026: Central Railway will operate a three-hour traffic and power block at Titwala during the midnight of September 10-11, affecting suburban and Mail/Express train services on the Kasara route.
The block will be imposed from 1:45 am to 4:45 am on the Up and Down North East lines as part of the ongoing work to extend Titwala station platforms to accommodate 15-car suburban rakes. The larger programme has been underway from the midnight of August 28-29 and is scheduled to continue until September 11-12, with blocks of five to six hours on other nights.
During the September 10-11 block, suburban services will not operate between Titwala and Kasara. Titwala-bound services will be extended to Asangaon, while trains normally originating from Titwala will originate from Asangaon.
Several local services will be cancelled for the night. On the Down line, cancellations include CSMT–Titwala locals departing CSMT at 10:00 pm, 11:16 pm and 11:42 pm; CSMT–Kurla locals at 8:41 pm and 8:41 am; CSMT–Kasara at 12:08 am; CSMT–Thane locals at 7:12 am and 8:08 am; Thane–Titwala at 5:35 am; and Kurla–Kalyan at 5:59 pm.
On the Up line, cancelled services include Titwala–CSMT locals departing at 10:06 pm, 4:32 am and 6:13 am; Thane–CSMT locals at 8:14 am and 9:08 am; Kalyan–CSMT at 7:02 pm; Titwala–Parel at 8:09 am; and Titwala–Thane at 10:25 pm.
The last Down local for Kasara before the block will leave CSMT at 10:47 pm, while the last Up local for CSMT before the block will leave Kasara at 10:00 pm. After the block, the first Down local for Kasara will depart CSMT at 4:19 am, while the first Up local will leave Kasara at 3:51 am and Titwala at 5:11 am.
Several suburban services will also be short-terminated or originated from intermediate stations on September 10. CSMT–Titwala services at 6:30 am and 3:33 pm will run up to Thane, along with CSMT–Titwala services departing at 11:24 am and 1:42 pm. Services departing CSMT at 9:27 am and 7:46 pm will run up to Kalyan.
In the opposite direction, Titwala–CSMT AC locals will originate from Thane at 9:22 am and 5:24 pm, while regular Titwala–CSMT locals will originate from Thane at 7:33 am, 1:08 pm and 4:23 pm. Two Titwala–CSMT services will originate from Kalyan at 10:36 am and 8:55 pm.
Central Railway will also operate an Asangaon–Parel special departing Asangaon at 8:02 am and a CSMT–Thane special departing CSMT at 12:08 am.
Mail and Express Trains to Face Regulation
The block will also affect Mail and Express services on the Mumbai Division. The 11044 Ballia–Dadar Express will be regulated at Vasind from 2:27 am to 5:00 am, while the 12102 Shalimar–LTT Jnaneshwari Express will be held at Atgaon from 2:33 am to 4:55 am.
The 18030 Shalimar–LTT Express will be regulated at Khardi from 2:20 am to 5:00 am, and the 12810 Howrah–CSMT Mail will be held at Kasara from 2:00 am to 4:45 am.
The 20104 Gorakhpur–LTT Express and 12132 Sainagar Shirdi–Dadar Express will be regulated at Igatpuri from 2:15 am to 5:00 am.
Six trains are expected to reach their destinations 30 to 40 minutes late: the 12106 Gondia–CSMT Vidarbha Express, 17058 Lingampalli–CSMT Devgiri Express, 12618 Hazrat Nizamuddin–Ernakulam Mangaladweep Express, 12138 Firozpur–CSMT Punjab Mail, 18609 Ranchi–LTT Express and 12290 Nagpur–CSMT Duronto Express.
On the Bhusaval Division, the 11002 Ballarshah–CSMT Nandigram Express, 12112 Amravati–CSMT Express, 12174 Maa Belha Devi Dham–LTT Udyog Nagri Express and 22538 LTT–Gorakhpur Kushinagar Express will also be suitably regulated.
Any late-running or special trains announced subsequently may also be regulated or rescheduled according to operational requirements.
