Mumbai: Two Killed, Two Injured After Dispute Between Brothers Turns Fatal in Mumbai’s Vikhroli
Mumbai, 6th August 2026: A minor dispute between three brothers over loud music turned into a deadly attack in Mumbai’s Vikhroli area early Thursday morning, leaving two people dead and two others seriously injured, police said.
The incident occurred at Rahul Nagar in Parksite, Vikhroli (East), where three brothers of the Vishwakarma family lived in the same house.
According to preliminary information, Sunil Vishwakarma (40) allegedly played loud music in the early hours of the morning. This led to an argument with his brothers, Surendra Vishwakarma and Suraj Vishwakarma, who objected to the noise. The verbal altercation quickly escalated into violence.
Police said Surendra and Suraj allegedly attacked Sunil and his family members with a sharp weapon.
Sunil Vishwakarma died on the spot, while his wife Anju Vishwakarma and their two sons, Shlok (14) and Vivan, sustained serious injuries. Shlok succumbed to his injuries while being taken to the hospital. Anju and Vivan are currently undergoing treatment at Rajawadi Hospital, and their condition is being monitored.
Following the incident, police detained Surendra Vishwakarma and Suraj Vishwakarma for questioning. A forensic team has examined the crime scene, and investigators have seized evidence as part of the probe.
Police suspect that the attack may have been triggered by reasons beyond the immediate argument over loud music, and a detailed investigation is underway to determine the exact motive behind the fatal assault.
Authorities have registered a case and further investigation is in progress.
