Mumbai: Uddhav Thackeray Visits Raj Thackeray’s Shivtirth Residence for Ganesh Darshan; Political Circles Abuzz with Speculation

Mumbai, 27th August 2025: In a significant development that has sparked fresh political discussions, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, along with his wife Rashmi Thackeray and son Aditya Thackeray, visited Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray’s residence, Shivtirth, on Wednesday. The Thackeray family arrived to seek blessings of Lord Ganesha, who has been brought to Raj Thackeray’s home for one and a half days.

The meeting is drawing attention as it marks the first time Uddhav Thackeray has visited Raj Thackeray’s residence. Following the darshan, Uddhav is also expected to have lunch with Raj Thackeray and his family, further underlining the warmth between the two brothers.

This is the third meeting between Uddhav and Raj in the last two months, signaling a possible thaw in their decades-long strained relationship. The duo had earlier come together after 20 years at the Marathi Vijay Melava, followed by Raj Thackeray’s visit to Matoshree to wish Uddhav on his birthday.

While today’s gathering is officially for Ganesh darshan, political observers believe it carries wider implications. Speculation is rife that the Shiv Sena (UBT) faction and MNS could forge an alliance for the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections.

With the Thackeray brothers’ growing public camaraderie, the possibility of a united front in Mumbai politics has gained momentum. All eyes are now on whether today’s lunch meeting at Shivtirth will go beyond festive celebrations and touch upon electoral strategies.
