Mumbai Woman Dies by Suicide, Jumps into Sea Off Marine Drive
Mumbai, 15th July 2024: On Monday morning, a 23-year-old woman reportedly died by suicide by jumping into the sea off Marine Drive in southern Mumbai, according to a police official.
Upon receiving the alert, police and fire brigade personnel promptly responded to the scene around noon. They quickly transported Mamta Kadam to nearby GT Hospital, where doctors, unfortunately, pronounced her dead upon arrival, stated the official from Marine Drive police station.
Investigations revealed that the woman had left her belongings on a nearby pier. Identification from her bag indicated she resided in Andheri and was employed at a well-known IT company. She had left home that morning, informing her family she was heading to work.
Sources familiar with the investigation indicated that an examination of her mobile phone suggested she may have taken this tragic step due to personal reasons.
