Navi Mumbai Chef Faces FIR for Alleged Molestation and Stalking of Colleague; MNS Leader Involved in Viral Altercation

Navi Mumbai, 24th January 2024: Navi Mumbai, on Tuesday, witnessed the registration of a case against a 36-year-old chef employed at a luxury hotel. The chef is accused of sexually harassing and stalking his 26-year-old colleague at their workplace.

DCP Vivek Pansare confirmed, “Following the complaint lodged by the woman, we have taken the 36-year-old chef into custody and charged him under IPC sections 354 (outraging modesty of a woman), 354D (stalking), and 506(2) (criminal intimidation).” Senior Inspector Ajay Shinde of APMC police station further mentioned that ongoing investigations are focused on assessing the potential involvement of another staff member in the incident.

The victim reported submitting a written complaint to the women’s grievances cell and the hotel manager against the chef and another colleague. However, she claimed that no action was taken against them, citing the absence of CCTV footage evidence.

In response to the complaint, Gajanan Kale, the MNS Navi Mumbai district chief, along with party workers, visited the hotel. An altercation ensued, and in a moment of anger, Kale slapped the manager. The incident was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media.

Kale explained, “The woman complained to me that she was being sexually harassed by two male colleagues. So, we went to inquire about the allegations and asked the manager why no action was taken against them.”

DCP Pansare added that if the manager files a complaint, an offence will be registered against Kale as well, indicating potential legal consequences for the political leader’s involvement in the incident.
