Navi Mumbai: False Bomb Scare at Panvel Railway Station Resolved After Bag Found to Contain Clothes

Panvel, 15th December 2023: A tense situation unfolded at Panvel Railway Station on Thursday night around 8 pm when the police responded to a call reporting a bomb in a suspicious bag. The incident led to the deployment of multiple police teams, including the Panvel City Police, Traffic Police, and Panvel Railway Police. However, the situation was later defused when it was revealed that the bag contained only clothes.

Panvel City Police received an alert about a suspected bomb in a bag within the Railway Station Area, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement. Upon arriving at the scene, various police teams were deployed to assess and handle the situation. Passengers were swiftly restricted from entering the area surrounding the suspicious bag, and a 10 to 15-foot radius was evacuated as a precautionary measure.

A bomb disposal team quickly reached the location and began examining the contents of the suspicious bag. The thorough inspection continued until half-past nine in the night, creating a tense atmosphere at the crowded Panvel Railway Station. However, as the investigation progressed, it was discovered that the bag contained only clothes, not posing any threat.

With the confirmation that there was no explosive device in the bag, the police lifted the restrictions, and normalcy was restored at Panvel railway station. The incident concluded with the police assuring the public that there was no cause for concern.
