Navi Mumbai: Panvel-Madgaon Special Trains Roll Out to Tackle Christmas Holiday Travel Surge

Mumbai, 15 December 2023: As the holiday season approaches, a surge in outbound travel has prompted the introduction of 14 special trains between Panvel and Madgaon. The Central Railway aims to alleviate the excess crowd during the Christmas and New Year festivities with these dedicated services. The special trains are scheduled to run from December 22 to January 2.

Train Schedule:
1. Train No. 01427 Panvel – Madgaon (December 22 to 31):
– Departure: Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 9.10 pm from Panvel
– Arrival: The next day at 6.50 am at Madgaon Junction
– Stops: Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim, and Karmali Railway Stations.
– Coaches: 22 coaches, including 6 air-conditioned third coaches, 4 sleepers, and 12 ordinary second-class guards brake vans.

2. Train No. 01428 Madgaon – Panvel (December 22 to 31):
– Departure: Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 8 am from Madgaon
– Arrival: Same day at 8.15 pm at Panvel
– Stops: Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim, and Karmali Railway Stations.
– Coaches: 22 coaches, including 6 air-conditioned third coaches, 4 sleepers, and 12 ordinary second-class guards brake vans.

3. Train No. 01430 Madgaon – Panvel New Year Special (January 1):
– Departure: 9 pm from Madgaon
– Arrival: The next day at 7.20 am at Panvel

4. Train No. 01429 Panvel – Madgaon New Year Special (January 2):
– Departure: 8.20 am from Panvel
– Arrival: Same day at 9.30 pm at Madgaon
