NIA Arrests 11th Killer In Amaravati Murder Case From Mumbai

Mumbai, 22nd September 2022: Yesterday (21st September, Wednesday), the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested the 11th accused in the Amaravati Murder case from Mumbai.

 

The NIA arrested wanted criminal Shaim Ahmed, son of Firoz Ahmed and resident of Al Karim Nagar, near Sharifaa Masjid, Amaravati. He was arrested for his active role in the killing of Umesh Pralhadrao Kolhe in Amaravati.

 

It is to be noted, that the NIA had declared a cash reward of Rs Two Lakh for any information leading to his arrest.

 

On June 21, Amaravati shopkeeper Umesh Kolhe was murdered. It is said that Umesh was murdered in protest against posting a post on social media in support of Nupur Sharma.

 

The case was initially registered as FIR No. 306/2022 on 22nd July 2022 at Police Station City Kotwali, District Amaravati, Maharashtra and re-registered by the NIA on 2nd July 2022.

 

Earlier, ten accused have been arrested in this case. Further investigations regarding the case are under progress.
