Ratan Tata’s Urgent Appeal Saves Dog’s Life: Mumbai Responds with Generosity

Mumbai, 27th June 2024: Ratan Tata, the former chairman of Tata Sons, maintains a relatively low profile on social media but is well-known for his deep affection for animals, often sharing posts related to them. Recently, he used his Instagram platform to make a heartfelt appeal to the people of Mumbai. He urged pet owners to help a seven-month-old dog in urgent need of a blood transfusion at Mumbai’s Small Animal Hospital.

Tata took to Instagram to seek assistance, sharing a photo of a dog in critical need. His post stated, “Your help is urgently needed. At our animal hospital, this 7-month-old dog requires an immediate blood transfusion due to suspected tick fever and severe anaemia.” He emphasized the urgent need for a dog blood donor in Mumbai, detailing the eligibility requirements: potential donors must be clinically healthy, aged between 1 to 8 years, weigh 25 kg or more, be fully vaccinated, dewormed, and free from major illnesses or tick infestations in the past six months.

The response from the dog-loving community was overwhelming, with numerous dog owners volunteering their pets for blood donation. The appeal was swiftly fulfilled, and Tata later expressed gratitude in another post, sharing photos of the dogs who donated blood. He wrote, “I would like to thank the people of Mumbai and dogs like Casper, Leo, Scooby, Ronny, and Ivan for stepping forward and donating blood to help save a life in crisis.” Tata also mentioned that one of the dogs had undergone cross-matching, expressing hope for a speedy recovery.

The internet widely praised Tata’s dedication to animal welfare and the prompt response from the community, showcasing a heartwarming example of collective compassion for animals in need.
