Shocking Incident in Navi Mumbai; ‘Mama’ Rapes His 15-Year-Old Niece
Navi Mumbai, 5th February 2024:: A man has been arrested by the Mumbai Police from Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra for allegedly raping his 15-year-old niece, making her pregnant, said cops. The 34-year-old accused is the maternal uncle of the girl and a resident of Navi Mumbai.
According to the Nerul Police Station officer, the incident took place at his house on October 4, last year, where he allegedly raped her. Later on, the girl faced some health issues and was admitted to a hospital in the Govandi area near Mumbai, where doctors told her that she was pregnant, added the police official.
The hospital authorities reported it to the Nerul Police, after which the accused was arrested and booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
A similar incident took place in Kandivali, where a four-year-old girl has been raped in Ashok Nagar in Kandivali are by a school watchman, cops said on Monday. He lured her by offering a chocolate and then raped her. The girl’s mother has filed a police complaint under the POSCO Act at Samta Nagar Police Station. Following the police complaint, the police arrested the accused on Saturday.
In another incident that took place in Navi Mumbai, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly molested by an auto driver while she was on the way to school on Tuesday, said the cops. The tragic incident took place on January 25, when the 37-year-old accused allegedly touched the girl inappropriately, according to the Turbhe Police Station. A case was registered against the auto driver under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including SEC 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage modesty) and Sec 354A (sexual harassment), and provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act, added police official.
