Shweta Tiwari Claims Cockroach Came With Instamart Order, Tags FDA Chief Tukaram Mundhe
Mumbai, 22nd August 2026: Television actor Shweta Tiwari has raised concerns over food and delivery hygiene after claiming that a cockroach came into her home along with a cold-drink order placed through Swiggy Instamart.
Tiwari shared a video on her Instagram Stories showing a cockroach moving around inside her house. She also showed the cold-drink items she had ordered and tagged Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, asking him to look into the matter.
In the video, Tiwari said she ordered Red Bull through Instamart and claimed a cockroach arrived with the order. She then showed the insect moving around her home and directly appealed to Mundhe to pay attention to the issue.
Her complaint comes at a time when Maharashtra FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe has been in the spotlight for inspections and action against food businesses and establishments over alleged food safety and hygiene violations. The FDA has also been inspecting quick-commerce warehouses as part of its wider food safety enforcement efforts.
However, no official confirmation has established how the cockroach entered Tiwari’s home or whether it originated from the delivery, packaging, or storage facility. Tiwari’s post is currently the basis for the allegation.
The actor’s complaint has nevertheless drawn attention to hygiene standards surrounding online grocery and quick-commerce deliveries, particularly as such platforms have become a regular source of household food and beverage purchases.
