Sonu Nigam Expresses Frustration After Rajasthan CM and Officials Walk Out During Performance

Jaipur, 10th December 2024: Sonu Nigam performed at the Rising Rajasthan event in Jaipur on Monday evening, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, and other ministers. However, the singer was left disappointed when the CM and several other officials walked out of the event midway while he was still on stage.

In response, Sonu shared a video on Instagram, expressing his frustration with the lack of respect shown by the political figures. “While performing, I noticed that the CM and other dignitaries left the show midway. Following their departure, many delegates from abroad also walked out. How can we expect people from other countries to appreciate Indian artists if our people don’t?” he remarked.

He continued, “I would like to request politicians: if you plan to leave a performance halfway, don’t attend it at all, or leave before it begins. It’s disrespectful to walk out while an artist is performing. This is an insult to Saraswati (the Goddess of Arts).”

Sonu mentioned that others who were present at the event had informed him about the incident, advising him not to perform for politicians who don’t respect artists. “I understand you’re busy, and you shouldn’t waste time attending events where you’re not respected. So, please leave before the performance starts,” he concluded.

The video sparked support from fans and fellow artists, with many praising Sonu for speaking out on the matter. “Only you dare to address such sensitive issues,” commented one user, while another said, “The only one who can stand up for artists.”

On the professional front, Sonu recently captivated the audience with his performance of “Mere Dholna” in the hit film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, starring Kartik Aaryan.
