Thane: Elderly Woman Robbed Of Gold Mangalsutra Worth 80 Thousand Rupees Outside Canara Bank Branch In Dombivli West
Dombivli, 21th July 2023: In a daylight robbery, a sneaky thief snatched a gold mangalsutra worth 80 thousand rupees from a 78-year-old woman in Dombivli West yesterday. The incident occurred outside the Canara Bank branch as the victim, identified as Parvati Hegde, was leaving after completing her bank transactions.
The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon when the plaintiff, a resident of Everest Society near Dombivli Western Railway Station, visited the Canara Bank in Dombivli West for some banking transactions. After finishing her work at the bank, she was walking down the stairs when the thief seized the opportunity to strike.
Suddenly, the thief approached from behind and slapped her hard on the neck. Dazed and disoriented, she turned around to see what had happened. Immediately, the thief yanked the wedding necklace from her neck and fled the scene before anyone could intervene. After that, she shouted as a thief, thief. But until someone came to her aid, the thief managed to escape.
Following the incident, Parvati promptly filed a complaint at the Vishnu Nagar police station. Police officials have registered a case and launched an investigation into it. Police are examining the CCTV footage from the bank premises in hopes of identifying and apprehending the culprit.
