Thane: Gutka Worth Rs Five Lakh Seized From Car In Dombivli

Thane, 27th March 2023: On Sunday, Manpada police seized stolen gutka worth Rs 5.16 lakh from a Honda CT car on Kalyan Shil road in Sonarpada village limits. A case has been registered against a resident of Bhiwandi. The name of the accused is Tayyab Ansari (25). Manpada police said Ansari was carrying gutka worth Rs 5.16 lakh in a Honda City car on Sunday afternoon.

Assistant Police Inspector Suresh Dambare and Constable Vijay Awad, who were on patrol in the area, got suspicious about the movement of the car as soon as they reached the road leading to Shankaranagar in the area of Swad Hotel on Miraj Sheel Road. They searched the car and found gutka bags in it. Driver Ansari could not provide information about where these bags are being taken. Therefore, the gutka was seized along with the vehicle. The Police registered a case under the Food and Safety Clause and Gutka Prohibition Act. Further investigation is ongoing.
