Thane Police Arrest Five for Attempting to Sell Stolen Silver and Idols
Thane, 26th July 2024: Police in Thane district have apprehended five individuals attempting to sell stolen silver and idols from a shop in Daman, located in the Union Territory of Daman and Diu. The theft, which involved the pilfering of 3 kg of silver, various idols, and other valuables, occurred recently, according to Senior Inspector Yogesh Awhad from the Crime Unit-II in Bhiwandi.
The police received intelligence on Tuesday about a group planning to sell the stolen items in Bhiwandi. They set up a sting operation and successfully captured the five suspects.
Investigations reveal that these individuals are linked to multiple criminal activities across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka.
