Thane Police Detain Four for Fatal Assault on Kolkata Man Mistaken for Thief
Thane, 31st July 2024: The Thane police have detained four individuals accused of fatally assaulting a 35-year-old man from Kolkata, whom they mistakenly suspected of theft.
According to officials, the incident occurred when the victim approached a car washing centre in Mumbra. The suspects, believing him to be a thief, began to beat him.
They then compelled him to enter an autorickshaw, continued the assault, and ultimately abandoned his body in a nearby area of bushes.
