Thane: Senior Citizen Dies After Being Infected With Covid And H3N2

Thane, 24th March 2023: An elderly man infected with both corona and H3N2 died on Wednesday. Due to this, the number of deaths due to corona within a week has increased to three, and the first death of H3N2 has been reported. Due to this, the health concern of the city has increased. Meanwhile, Thane Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar has confirmed this report.
In the Thane district, the infection of the coronavirus, which has decreased for the past few months, has started increasing again for the last 15 days. The number of active corona patients in the district has increased to 306. Out of them, 206 patients are from the Thane Municipal area alone, 25 in Kalyan-Dombivli city, 28 in Navi Mumbai city, three from Ulhasnagar city, 18 from Bhiwandi city, 10 from Mira-Bhayander city and 16 in rural areas. Two elderly people have died in the last eight days in Thane city, which is leading in the number of patients, followed by the death of another 79-year-old man on Wednesday. He had comorbidities. While undergoing treatment at a private hospital, it was revealed from the medical examination report that he was also infected with H3N2 influenza. Therefore, the number of deaths due to corona within a week has increased to three, and at the same time, the first death of H3N2 has been reported.
Along with the increase in corona patients in Thane city, the disease H3N2 influenza has raised its head. So far, 19 patients with this disease have been detected in the city.
