Thane: Toddler Falls Into Open Septic Tank In Bhiwandi, Found Dead After Four Days

Thane, 20th February 2025: A two-and-a-half-year-old boy tragically lost his life after falling into an open septic tank in Bhiwandi. The child, identified as Aaynash Amarjeet Jaiswal, lived with his family in the Bhadwad area under the jurisdiction of Shantinagar Police Station.
According to the police, Aaynash was the only son of Amarjeet, who also has four daughters. The family resided in the locality, with both parents working at a warehouse in Bhiwandi.
On the morning of February 14, the parents left for work, and their eldest daughter attended tuition classes, leaving Aaynash in the care of his grandmother and three elder sisters. Later in the evening, the toddler stepped out of the house to play nearby.
When Aaynash was nowhere to be found, his grandmother and sisters began searching for him. As the hours passed without any sign of the child, the family grew anxious and eventually reported his disappearance to the police, suspecting a possible abduction.
Following the complaint, the police launched a search operation across the neighbourhood, scouring the streets and reviewing CCTV footage. During the search, they discovered an uncovered septic tank near a shared toilet but were unable to locate the child at that time.
After four days of relentless searching, investigators determined that Aaynash had not left the area. Revisiting the toilet site, they found his body floating in the septic tank. The child was immediately pulled out and taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital, where a postmortem examination was conducted before handing over the body to his grieving family.
Shantinagar Police Station Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad stated, “An Accidental Death Report has been registered, and further investigations are ongoing.”
