Thane Woman Faces FIR for Severe Abuse of Nine-Month-Old Daughter
Thane, 22nd July 2024: On Friday, the city police filed an FIR against a 40-year-old woman accused of severe abuse against her nine-month-old daughter, including inflicting burns on the child’s body with a hot object.
The complaint was made against the impoverished woman living alone in the Bhatwadi area of Wagle Estate. Neighbours reported the disturbing situation, revealing that the woman had been regularly beating her vulnerable child, burning her with hot objects, violently shaking her, and cruelly leaving her outside the house.
The police intervened promptly, rescuing the injured baby and launching an investigation into the woman’s actions. The severely hurt toddler has been placed under the care of a childcare centre in Dombivli, while local authorities are conducting a thorough and urgent investigation.
The FIR was filed at Shrinagar Police Station on Thursday under sections 118(1) and 115(2) of the Bombay Nursing Homes Registration (Amendment) Act and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
