27 times World Champion Pankaj Advani launches National PNG (Piped Natural Gas) Drive

Pune , March 7: A National PNG (Piped Natural Gas) Drive was launched at the hands of 27times world snooker and Billiards champion Shri. Pankaj Advani, Two Times world Billiards and Snooker Champion Shri. Devendra Joshi, Shri. Kumar Shanker, Managing Director (MNGL) and Shri. Sanjay Sharma, Director Commercial (MNGL) in the city today.

The scheme was flagged by Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) in the city under the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) campaign aimed to promote the adoption of PNG among households and to expand PNG consumer base across a broader segment of the population.

The National PNG Drive solicits collective efforts of all stakeholders, State governments, local bodies etc. to promote sustainable and clean energy solutions across the nation to meet the objectives.

Till date there are 300 Geographical areas authorised in the country, covering 98% of thepopulation and 88% of its area for development of CGD Network.
The targets upto 2032 interalia includes installation of 12.5 Crore domestic PNG connections, establishment17,751CNG stations etc.

As on 30th November 2023, 1.2 Crore domestic PNG connections and 6,159CNG stations have been established in the country.

The authorized company MNGL operating in Pune has provided piped gas connection to above 7000 societies in Pune but due to various reasons almost 30-40% houses in each society are yet to switchover to piped natural gas.

MNGL is conducting a special drive with special scheme and a hope the citizens of Pune will avail these benefits and switchover to piped natural gas in their kitchen.
