6.5 Lakh Graduates, 68,000 Post-Graduates Apply For Police Recruitment

Mumbai, 19th January 2023: 6.5 lakh graduate candidates across Maharashtra have applied for police recruitment, while the educational qualification is class 12th. Apart from this, about 68,000 highly educated people like Ayurvedic Doctors, B Tech, M Com, and MBA applicants have applied.

Around 1.8 lakh candidates have applied for 18,331 posts in the police force across the state. Mumbai is also recruiting for 7,000 posts. The recruitment process is going on for Police Constable, Driver and State Reserve Police Force. Education up to the 12th standard is a requirement for this post. But still, 6,39,317 graduate candidates have applied for this recruitment. Among them, the number of candidates who have graduated from Arts and Commerce is more. Apart from this, those who have graduated from the science branch have also applied.

68,292 students who have done post-graduation have also applied for this recruitment. It also includes Ayurvedic Doctors, Engineering branches, Lawyers, MBA educated candidates. Every year, 55 percent of applications come from candidates with graduate or higher education. But if we consider the percentage this year, the amount is less, the official said.

Every year there are recruitments for about 6000 posts in the state. But due to Corona, recruitment is taking place after two years. Also, due to the increase of Mira-Bhayander and Pimpri-Chinchwad commissionerates, the recruitment process is being implemented for 18,331 posts this year. After the order of the High Court, the option was made available to third parties. After the order of the court, the state police also made relevant changes to the website, and after that, the way has been opened for the third gender to apply. As many as 68 transgenders have applied for this recruitment. Mumbai is also recruiting for 7,076 posts, and around six lakh candidates have applied. In Alibaug, Nanded, the use of stimulants by two candidates was revealed.
