Pune: IPS Satya Sai Cracks Down on Violating Bars in Maval, Legal Actions Initiated 2 Bars

Lonavala, 8th March 2024: In a proactive move to enforce legal norms and maintain public order, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Satya Sai Karthik, leading the Lonavala sub-division under Pune rural police, conducted raids on two orchestra bars in Maval for flouting regulations.

The crackdown, which took place on March 8, 2024, resulted in the filing of cases against the owners of Deepa Bar and Restaurant in Kamshet and Flavors Bar and Restaurant in Vadgaon, both falling under the jurisdiction of Taluka Maval, District Pune.

The legal action stems from a Prohibition Order issued by the Additional District Magistrate, Pune, under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) on March 6, 2024, specifically targeting hotels and restaurants in Pune rural district. ASP Satya Sai Karthik, assuming charge of the sub-division, had explicitly instructed all establishments to adhere strictly to the prohibition order.

However, it came to ASP Karthik’s attention that some establishment owners were flouting the order with impunity. To address this, he dispatched a team to investigate the alleged violations at Deepa Bar and Restaurant in Kamshet and Flavors Bar and Restaurant in Vadgaon.

During the raids at both locations, it was discovered that the bars were selling food and liquor beyond the prescribed time limits. Additionally, orchestra music was being played beyond the stipulated time, violating the established regulations. Consequently, two separate criminal cases were registered at Kamshet Police Station and Vadgaon Maval Police Station under Section 188 and Section 33 (W) of the Maharashtra Police Act, respectively.

The investigations are now underway, with Kamshet and Vadgaon Maval Police taking charge of the respective cases. ASP Karthik has reiterated his commitment to strict legal actions against establishment operators who violate rules and emphasized the importance of adhering to the prescribed time constraints.

Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh of the Pune Rural Police, the coordinated efforts of Additional Superintendent of Police Ramesh Chopde, ASP Satya Sai Karthik, and the dedicated team of law enforcement officers have ensured the initiation of legal proceedings against those found in violation of the established regulations.
