ACB Nabs Revenue Official in Navi Mumbai for Bribery Charges

Navi Mumbai, 15th March 2024: An official from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) disclosed on Friday the arrest of Kiran Arjun Gore (48), a revenue assistant at the Panvel tehsil office, for purportedly demanding and accepting a bribe. Shivraj Mhetre, deputy superintendent of police from ACB’s Navi Mumbai unit, revealed that Gore had allegedly sought Rs 1 lakh from an individual to facilitate the conversion of two ancestral land parcels from “Category II to Category I under the Bombay Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act.”
Upon negotiation, the bribe amount was reduced to Rs 80,000. However, the individual approached the ACB, prompting them to set a trap. Gore was apprehended on Thursday evening while accepting Rs 40,000 of the bribe. A case has been filed against him at the Panvel police station under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
