Mumbai Traffic Police Issue Advisory Ahead of IPL Matches at Wankhede Stadium
Mumbai, 31st March 2024: Ahead of the IPL matches scheduled at Wankhede Stadium on April 1st and 7th, the Mumbai Traffic Police has issued an advisory for commuters due to the expected influx of spectators, which may cause traffic congestion. With no parking facilities available at the stadium, spectators are urged to utilize public transport to attend the matches. Additionally, parking will not be permitted from 12 pm to 11:30 pm on both match days.
For smoother traffic flow, certain road regulations will be implemented, including:
– Closure of “C” Road’s Northside from its junction with NS Road to its junction with “E” Road.
– Closure of “D” Road from its junction with NS Road to its junction with “E” Road.
– Closure of “E” Road from the junction of “D” Road to the junction of “C” Road.
– Closure of “F” Road from the junction of NS Road to the junction of “E” Crossroad.
– Closure of “G” Road south side from its junction with NS Road to its junction with “E” Cross Road.
– Closure of “E” Cross Road from the junction of “F” Road to the junction of “G” Road.
– Restriction of vehicular traffic on NS Road, both North and Southbound, from Mafatlal Bath Signal to Air India Junction.
Specific one-way traffic arrangements will be enforced:
– “D” Road will be one-way (from West to East) for vehicular traffic.
– “F” Road will be one-way (from West to East) for vehicular traffic from the junction of “E” Cross Road towards NS Road.
– “E” Road will be one-way (South Bound) for all types of vehicular traffic from the junction of “D” Road towards the junction of “C” Road.
To facilitate easier access to Wankhede Stadium:
– Spectators with tickets for Gate Numbers 01, 02 & 07 are advised to alight at Churchgate station and walk towards ‘D’ Road.
– Spectators with tickets for Gate Numbers 04 & 05A are advised to alight at Marine Lines station and walk towards ‘F’ Road.
– Spectators with tickets for Gate Number 03 are advised to alight at Churchgate station and walk towards N.S. Road footpath.
– Spectators arriving via NS Road are reminded to use the footpath and not the road.
– Designated alighting points for spectators arriving by car will be marked with signage on NS Road.
Commuters are encouraged to adhere to these guidelines to ensure smooth traffic flow and hassle-free access to the stadium during the IPL matches.
