Amit Shah Accuses MVA Of Dynastic Politics And Misleading Maharashtra At Mumbai Rally
Mumbai, 15th November 2024: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking at a rally in Ghatkopar East on Tuesday, accused the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance of engaging in “dynastic politics and misleading the people of Maharashtra.” During the Vijay Shankhnaad Jansabha, Shah stated, “Uddhav Thackeray and the MVA alliance have been more focused on dynastic politics, misleading the public, and forming an anti-development coalition.”
The gathering was part of the Mahayuti campaign supporting six candidates in the North-East Mumbai region, including Parag Shah from Ghatkopar East, Ram Kadam from Ghatkopar West, Suvarana Karanje from Vikhroli, Mihir Kotecha from Mulund West, Ashok Patil from Bhandup West, and Suresh Patil from Mankhurd Shivaji Nagar.
Shah opened with a confident forecast, saying, “I am announcing the Maharashtra assembly election results early. I guarantee that the Mahayuti government will return, sweeping the MVA from Maharashtra.”
He endorsed development initiatives led by the Shinde-Fadnavis administration, including the 22-km Atal Setu bridge, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail, coastal road projects, Samruddhi Mahamarg, Metro Rail expansion, Dharavi redevelopment, and the Navi Mumbai Airport, adding that such projects were beyond the MVA’s capacity.
In a pointed critique of Uddhav Thackeray, Shah said, “To hold onto power, Uddhav Thackeray has aligned with Congress.” He criticized the UBT faction for supporting the Waqf Board and advocating reservations for Muslims, asserting that the Modi government remains committed to Waqf reforms.
Shah also raised national security concerns, alleging that “terrorists from Pakistan infiltrate, conduct attacks, and retreat safely.” He credited the Modi government’s surgical strikes and accused the Congress-led MVA of prioritizing vote-bank politics at the expense of national safety. “They have compromised national security for vote banks. Not only Maharashtra but the entire nation is at risk in their hands,” Shah stated.
The rally was attended by prominent BJP figures, including Mumbai BJP President Ashish Shelar, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya, former MP Manoj Kotak, and ex-cabinet minister Prakash Mehta. Shelar, in his speech, remarked, “This election should serve as a response to Uddhav Thackeray for his failures during his term. I urge everyone to vote for Mahayuti to help us achieve the aspirations of the common people.”
