Mumbai: Lalbaugcha Raja Mandal Announces Financial Assistance After Bhuleshwar Ganesh Idol Accident
Mumbai, 25th August 2026: The Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh Mandal has extended financial assistance to the Bhuleshwarcha Raja Mandal following the tragic accident during the Ganesh idol arrival procession in Mumbai.
The incident occurred when the approximately 27-foot-tall Ganesh idol of Bhuleshwarcha Raja reportedly lost balance and collapsed during the procession. Two people lost their lives in the accident, while two others sustained serious injuries.
The incident sent shockwaves across Mumbai and cast a sombre shadow over the city’s Ganesh festival celebrations.
In response to the tragedy, the Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh Mandal announced financial assistance of ₹11 lakh to the Bhuleshwarcha Raja Mandal. The mandal has also announced financial support for the families of those who lost their lives in the accident.
The assistance is being provided as a gesture of solidarity and support following the unfortunate incident. The tragedy has also raised concerns over safety arrangements and precautions required while transporting large Ganesh idols during procession routes.
