Mumbai: Truck Crashes Into Divider on Eastern Express Highway, Traffic Disrupted Near Chembur
Mumbai, 26th August 2026: Traffic movement on the Eastern Express Highway near Chembur was disrupted during the morning rush hour on Wednesday after a truck crashed into the road divider, causing significant congestion on the busy stretch.
The accident reportedly took place at around 5:30 a.m. when a truck travelling towards Thane lost control and rammed into the divider. The vehicle subsequently entered the opposite carriageway, affecting traffic movement in the area.
Following the incident, traffic police reached the spot and took measures to regulate vehicular movement. A crane was also brought in to remove the damaged truck and clear the affected portion of the road.
The accident led to long queues of vehicles on the Eastern Express Highway near Chembur, causing delays for commuters travelling towards Thane and other destinations.
The Chembur Traffic Division was informed about the incident, and traffic personnel continued efforts to manage the situation and restore normal movement.
