Mumbai municipality to open seven new swimming pools, Dahisar and Malad pools open without inauguration

Mumbai, 3rd April 2023: Mumbai citizens can now enjoy swimming in two new swimming pools located in Dahisar and Malad without any inauguration ceremony. The municipality currently manages six swimming pools in Mumbai, including Dadar, Kandivali, Dahisar, and Chembur.
However, the swimming pools at Priyadarshini Sports Complex in Mulund and Shahajiraje Bhosale Sports Complex in Andheri are managed by a private organization. The municipality is also constructing swimming pools at seven new locations, four in the western suburbs, two in the city, and one in the eastern suburbs. The swimming pools at Kandarpada in Dahisar and Chacha Nehru Maidan in Malad have been opened to the public.
The municipality has announced that the construction of new swimming pools at Gilbert Hill in Andheri (West), Kondivita Village in Andheri (East), Worli Reservoir Hill in Worli, Tagore Nagar in Vikhroli (East), and Wadala Fire Station in Wadala is underway. The membership registration process for the new swimming pools will begin after the construction and inauguration ceremonies. The swimming pool at the Wadala Fire Station is currently under the jurisdiction of the fire department and will also be opened to the public after renovation.
The addition of these new swimming pools will provide a much-needed recreational activity for Mumbai citizens. However, it is important to note that safety measures and proper maintenance of these facilities should be ensured to prevent any accidents or health hazards.
