Heavy Rains Wreak Havoc in Mumbai Suburbs: Falling Tree Claimed One Life And Left Three Injured In Byculla

Mumbai, 29th June 2023: Relentless rainfall has struck Mumbai’s suburban areas, including Kandivali, Borivali, Malad, Andheri, Goregaon, and Dahisar, leading to widespread disruptions and tragic incidents. As the downpour persists, reports of falling trees causing injuries and loss of lives have emerged.

Yesterday night (28th June 2023), a tragic incident unfolded in the Indu Oil Mill Compound at Byculla when a falling tree claimed the life of a young man and left three others injured. This unfortunate occurrence took place around 2:30 a.m. The deceased, identified as Rehman Khan, was 22 years old. The injured individuals are currently receiving medical treatment at J.J. Hospital.

This inclement weather, accompanied by hail, has further aggravated the situation throughout the state. With the rainfall intensifying, water-logging has become a common occurrence in numerous areas. Consequently, incidents of falling trees have been reported in certain locations, posing a significant threat to public safety.

In another tragic incident that transpired yesterday, Premlal Nirmal, a 30-year-old resident of Mitha Nagar Municipal Colony, lost his life. The incident took place in the MG Road area of Goregaon West.
