Mumbai, 8th July 2023: Bertrand Russell once said, “Beggars do not envy millionaires, though of course they will envy other beggars who are more successful.” The reason for remembering it today is because India has found a surprising confutation of Russell’s quote these days. When there are many hard-working people in society who work round the clock to only manage two meals a day, There are some people in society who have managed to turn begging into a lucrative business. Such is the story of Bharat Jain. With 7.5 crore of net worth, Jain is now the world’s richest beggar.

Bharat Jain, living in the financial capital of India, has garnered the record as the wealthiest beggar in the world. According to news reports, Bharat Jain has a total net worth of Rs 7.5 Crore, more than most of the well-educated corporate employees. He has a 2BHK flat in Mumbai and two shops in the Thane area, which pay him nearly a rental income of Rs 30,000 per month.

According to media reports, Bharat came from a poor family. In his childhood, he was not able to pursue higher education in school. Later on, he started begging on the streets of prominent areas of the city, such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus railway station (CSMT) and Azad Maidan. Thanks to the generosity of the people, he has managed to create such a large empire, which now has a market value of around 7.5 Crore rupees.

With such a huge net worth, Bharat continues to earn around 2,000 to 2,500 rupees a day through begging. His monthly income hovers around a shocking 60,000 to 75,000 rupees. Apart from that, he lives in the posh area of Parel in his 1BHK duplex apartment. Furthermore, he has a 2BHK flat in Mumbai and one stationary store, managed by his family members.

Bharat is a married man, comprising his wife, two sons, his brother, and his father in his family. Surprisingly, both of his sons have studied at convent schools in Mumbai and have completed their education. His brother manages the stationary store he owns. However, despite multiple requests from his family members to quit the begging, Bharat does not listen to them and continues the begging.
