Mumbai: Crime Branch Busts Drug Trafficking Gang In Mulund; Seizes Over Rs 1 Crore Worth Of Valuables, Including Narcotics

Mulund, 17th August 2023: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Crime Branch Unit 6 apprehended a notorious gang from the Mulund area, leading to the arrest of nine individuals, including a woman. The operation resulted in the seizure of narcotics with an estimated value of Rs 1 crore 20 lakh. The successful operation was carried out based on a tip-off received by the Crime Branch officials.

Acting swiftly on the information received, officers from the Crime Branch Unit 6 strategically positioned themselves near the Mulund toll naka area on Wednesday. Their vigilance paid off when they intercepted two vehicles carrying a total of eight suspects. When police checked the suspects, they found them with some narcotics, necessitating a police arrest.

During the interrogation, the detained suspects disclosed crucial information about a hidden cache of narcotics stashed in a residence located in Chembur. Acting on this lead, law enforcement personnel promptly raided the specified location. Inside the Chembur house, a significant quantity of illicit substances was unearthed, including 350 grams of mephedrone and 45 grams of hashish. The value of the seized narcotics alone was estimated to be worth Rs 1 crore 2 lakh. In addition to the drugs, the police also confiscated multiple mobile phones and vehicles associated with the accused.

The individuals arrested have been identified as Sahil Khan (27), Ajmal Sheikh (45), Shamshuddin Shah (22), Imran Pathan (37), Tauseeb Mansuri (27), Ismail Siddiqui (36), Sarfraz Khan (35), Raees Qureshi (25), and Sana Khan (25). Authorities are continuing their search for other potential accomplices linked to this drug trafficking network.

Further investigation has revealed that the apprehended suspects have a history of criminal activity, with a total of 13 cases registered against them across various cities.
