Mumbai: Andheri MIDC Police Arrest Producer Sajay Saha In Fraud Allegations Involving Actor Oberoi
Andheri, 4th October 2023: On Sunday, the Andheri MIDC Police successfully apprehended an accused business partner, Sanjay Saha, on charges of defrauding actor Vivek Oberoi of Rs. 1.5 crore. The MIDC Police took the accused into custody and are now interrogating him on fraudulent charges. The accused was a business partner of the actor Vivek Oberoi.
In July this year, a case of cheating and defrauding was registered against the producer Sanjay Saha, along with Nandita Saha, Radhika Nanda, and other accused. According to the complaint, Oberoi and his wife, Priyanka, started Organic LLP on February 24, 2017. However, noticing blink chances of long-term sustenance in this sector, both decided to enter the film industry.
During that time, Oberoi met with producer Sanjay Saha. Given Saha’s background in film production, they mutually agreed to collaborate. Consequently, Sanjay Saha, along with Nandita Saha and Radhika Nanda, joined forces to establish a company known as Anandita Entertainment LLP.
Vivek Oberoi made an investment of Rs 95 lakh, 72 thousand, and 814 in this company, combining funds from his personal account and Oberoi Mega Entertainment LLP. However, the accused, Mr. Saha, allegedly utilised this amount for personal expenses without notifying Oberoi about the financial dealings of Anandita Company. It is claimed that Oberoi incurred a loss of Rs 1 crore, 55 lakh, 72 thousand, and 814 due to these actions.
As soon as the fraud was noticed, a chartered accountant of Oberoi Mega Entertainment, Deven Jawaharlal Bafna (57), registered a complaint in this regard with the Andheri MIDC police. The complaint states that the fraud took place between February 4, 2020, and April 30, 2022.
