Mumbai: Rats Wreak Havoc In LTT-Madgaon Express Pantry Car; IRCTC Takes Swift Action
Mumbai, 19th October 2023: In a startling incident that has buzzed social media, a video depicting a man eating in the pantry car of the LTT-Madgaon Express while rats scurry around the food containers has gone viral. The incident has raised questions about the cleanliness of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and the railway administration.
According to reports, passengers shared the video, which showcases rats brazenly devouring food items in the pantry car of the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Madgaon Express train on a Saturday night. The footage has quickly gone viral on social media platforms.
Responding to the viral video, the IRCTC has taken immediate action and attributed the unsettling incident to a rodent infestation at the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus. Evidently, the station has been grappling with a significant rat problem.
Consequently, the IRCTC has lodged a formal complaint with the Railways, urging them to address the issue promptly and demanding effective measures to mitigate the presence of rats in the pantry car. The Central Railway has assured passengers that comprehensive pest control measures will be taken alongside other necessary actions.
