Mumbai: People Grappling With Menace Of Stray Animals On Mumbai-Goa Highway; Eight People Injured So Far

Mumbai, 24th October 2023: In recent days, commuters on the bustling Mumbai-Goa highway have been living in fear due to the presence of feral stray animals, primarily dogs, at the Kolad-Ambewadi junction. These animals have left eight individuals injured after attacking them while they walked along the streets, including school-going children and women.

The Kolad-Ambewadi junction, a bustling street known for its nearby markets, has been in a state of chaos and alarm recently due to these feral stray animals. The wave of attacks has left the local population anxious and wary as they navigate through the area.

Taking note of this increasing encumbrance, a social organisation named ‘Sahyadri Wildlife Protection’ complained about it to the authorities. Responding promptly, the authorities initiated action to detain these troublesome stray animals, subsequently relocating them to the nearby forest.

With these menacing animals safely relocated to their natural habitat, the people passing through the Kolad-Ambewadi junction can, for now, breathe a collective sigh of relief.
