After Congress And AAP, NCP Enters Protests Held Every Sunday Against Aarey Metro Car Shed

Mumbai, 28th August 2022: On Sunday environmentalists continued their protest against the planned car shed in the Aarey colony. Environmentalists, who participated in the agitation in large numbers, protested against the state government and the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC). NCP workers also participated in this protest which was going on at the picnic point in Aarey Colony. The protestors left the picnic point area in a panic shouting slogans like “MMRCL Aarey Chhodo, Shinde-Fadnavis Aarey Chhodo.”

After the state government announced the decision to build the car shed of Metro 3 in the Aarey Colony, environmentalists started protesting aggressively. As a part of the same, the Aarey Conservation Group is holding a protest every Sunday at the Picnic Point area in Aarey Colony. Workers of political parties have also started participating in this movement.

So far, leaders including Yuva Seva Pramukh, former Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray, Mumbai Congress President Bhai Jagtap, Prakash Ambedkar of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, and Anandraj Ambedkar of Republican Sena have participated in the Aarey Bachao movement. AAP and Communist Party leader-activists are participating in protests here every Sunday. Now, the NCP has also joined the movement. NCP activists also participated in the protest in large numbers on Sunday.
