Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express Ready for Inauguration on March 12
Mumbai/Ahmedabad, 10th March 2024: Scheduled for March 12, the launch of the second Vande Bharat Express linking Ahmedabad and Mumbai Central is imminent. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to unveil a series of railway initiatives and introduce multiple train services throughout India on the same day. The inaugural ceremony for the train is scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad.
Following the finalized timetable, the train is set to depart from Ahmedabad at 6:10 am, reaching Mumbai Central at 11:35 pm. The return journey will see the train leaving Mumbai Central at 3:55 pm and arriving in Ahmedabad at 9:25 pm.
Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the first Vande Express, connecting Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad, and Gandhinagar, on September 30, 2022. Notably, the initial Vande Express garnered significant daily ridership, with 142% between Mumbai Central and Gandhinagar, hosting 1,596 passengers daily. The return route experienced a ridership of 146%, averaging 1,646 passengers per day.
