Bomb Threat at Navi Mumbai’s InOrbit Mall Found to Be False After Evacuation and Search
Navi Mumbai, 19th August 2024: On Saturday, InOrbit Mall in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, received a bomb threat that was later confirmed to be a hoax after a thorough search revealed no suspicious items.
Officials reported that the mall received the threatening email at approximately 11:59 a.m., which stated: “Hello there, I planted bombs in the building. Every person inside the building will be killed.”
The mall was promptly evacuated, and a Bomb Detection Squad, along with sniffer dogs, Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) officials, and Fire Brigade personnel, were called in to search. The search concluded around 2:50 p.m., and the mall reopened to the public at approximately 3 p.m.
Police are currently investigating the origin of the email and working to trace its sender.
