Cattini India Unveils €2.5 Million Manufacturing Hub in Pune

Pune, 8th March 2024: Cattini e Figlio Spa, the esteemed Italian firm, has announced its ambitious venture into the Indian market with the establishment of a cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Pune’s Sanaswadi area. The €2.5 million investment will pave the way for the production of various machinery products, including gears, shafts, and synchronizers, under the banner of the newly formed entity, Cattini India.

At the inauguration ceremony, Director of Cattini India, Thomas Mathew, outlined the company’s vision for the facility, emphasizing its extensive reach over five acres and its potential to bolster local and national economic stability. In the initial phase, Mathew anticipates a turnover of Rs. 45 crores, with a targeted surge to Rs. 250 crores in the second phase within three years. The long-term goal, spanning five to seven years, envisions an impressive revenue range of Rs. 650 to 700 crores. Mathew also revealed that the company would commence operations with 60 employees, a number expected to grow in tandem with the facility’s expansion.

This strategic move by Cattini e Figlio Spa was recently disclosed by the company’s top management in collaboration with ALCOR Cross Border M&A Pvt. Ltd., which played a crucial role in planning, structuring, and executing the transaction. ALCOR’s contribution facilitated the establishment of the manufacturing facility at Sanaswadi, Pune.

Lorenzo Amedeo, Chairperson of Cattini e Figlio Spa, highlighted the rich history of Cattini, which originated in 1950 and evolved into a corporation within four years. Cattini India, a subsidiary of Cattini e Figlio, holds a prominent position as a market leader in Europe’s commercial vehicles segment, specializing in gears, shafts, and synchronizers.

Amedeo stated, “This investment marks Cattini’s entry into the Indian market and is a significant stride in our growth strategy to expand our presence in the Asia-Pacific region. The facility will introduce advanced technology, investments, and expertise, not only generating employment opportunities but also establishing Pune as a manufacturing hub.”
