Central Railway Recovers Over Rs 87 Lakh Worth of Railway Property Under, RP(UP) Act in Financial year 2024–25

Mumbai, 9th April 2025: Central Railway has made a significant impact in curbing the theft and unlawful possession of railway property under the RP (UP) Act during the financial year 2024–25. Through enhanced patrolling, surveillance, and focused operations, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) has achieved notable success in curbing theft and illegal possession of railway property
A total of 430 cases were registered and 974 offenders arrested in 2024–25, compared to 534 cases were registered and 1,272 offenders arrested in the previous year 2023–24. This reflects improved operational efficiency with a reduction in cases while maintaining a high recovery rate.
The RPF successfully recovered railway property worth ₹87,42,388, underscoring Central Railway’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding national assets.
Division-wise Achievements:
Mumbai Division: 179 cases registered, 345 criminals arrested, ₹23,79,619 recovered
Bhusawal Division: 77 cases, 171 arrests, ₹7,42,718 recovered
Nagpur Division: 84 cases, 243 arrests, ₹33,07,988 recovered
Pune Division: 71 cases, 159 arrests, ₹18,91,771 recovered
Solapur Division: 16 cases, 56 arrests, ₹4,20,292 recovered
These results highlight the dedication of RPF personnel across divisions in safeguarding railway property and maintaining law and order.
