Coastal Road Construction To Change Traffic Routes In South Mumbai For Five Months

Mumbai, 21st March 2023: The work on the coastal road in Mumbai is in the final stage. Currently, this road work is going on on NS Marg near Marine Drive. SWD was on the southern carriageway of Marine Drive – between Taraporewala Aquarium to Islam Gymkhana. Drainage outfall work is required. Meanwhile, as this work will take five months, traffic rules have been changed in South Mumbai. A circular has been issued by the Mumbai Traffic Police in this regard.

According to the information given by the officials of Mumbai Municipal Corporation, SWD, the drainage outfall work will start this week, and it is likely to take five months. In this background, traffic rules have been changed in South Mumbai. Accordingly, southbound traffic from NS Marg has been diverted to the service road near Gymkhana. Due to this, there is a possibility of traffic congestion in South Mumbai.

Meanwhile, the traffic police have advised citizens to avoid using the NS route. The citizens travelling from South Mumbai should use alternative routes like Maharishi Curve Road, Kemps Corner, Nana Chowk, Opera House, Saifee Hospital, and Churchgate Station, police have also requested.
