Kalyan, 5th July 2023: A case of molestation came to light two days ago at Kalyan Railway Station. The accused was molesting a female passenger while in a drunken state. Promptly, a complaint has been registered against a drunkard in this case. The accused, identified as Mahendra Namdev Jadhav, age 25, has been apprehended by the police.

According to the information, the incident occurred two days ago when a female passenger was waiting on platform number one, intending to board a local train. At that time, the drunkard standing nearby started performing obscenities while looking at the woman. Initially, the passenger ignored it, but the accused continued his actions. Irritated by it, the woman passenger shouted loudly and informed the other co-passengers about the incident. When fellow passengers intervened, the accused abused the other passengers and started arguing with them under the influence of alcohol.

The enraged passenger beat the accused and handed him over to the Kalyan Railway Police. Interestingly, not a single passenger came forward to lodge a police complaint along with the victim after the incident. After that, the Kalyan Railway Police invoked the Maharashtra Police Act and charged the accused with the offence of molesting a woman while consuming alcohol in a public place. Senior Police Inspector Mukesh Dhage has taken charge of the case and is conducting further investigation in this regard.
