Fatal Crash on Mumbai’s Senapati Bapat Flyover Claims Two Lives

Mumbai, 29th March 2025: A severe collision occurred on Mumbai’s Senapati Bapat flyover on Saturday afternoon involving a car and a black-and-yellow taxi, resulting in the deaths of at least two people.

The accident took place at approximately 1:15 pm when a Mahindra SUV crashed into a Santro taxi. The impact led to the immediate deaths of the taxi driver and a female passenger. Reports indicate that the taxi was heading towards Chinchpokli, while the SUV was en route to Bandra.

Authorities have taken the SUV driver into custody.

Disturbing visuals from the crash site depict the female passenger partially ejected from the vehicle due to the impact. The taxi sustained heavy damage, with its bonnet and front seats completely destroyed. The SUV also suffered severe damage, with a crushed bonnet, shattered windshield, and ruined front tyres. Images from the scene show deployed airbags, likely triggered by the force of the collision.

Police personnel arrived at the location, and an ambulance was dispatched to transport any injured individuals to the hospital. The crash caused significant traffic disruptions on the typically busy flyover.
