FIR Filed Against Five Minors in Thane for Allegedly Forcing Boy to Chant ‘Allah Hu Akbar’

Thane, 27th March 2024: In Maharashtra’s Thane district, a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against five minors for allegedly compelling another boy to chant ‘Allah Hu Akbar’.

The incident was brought to light when the father of the 11-year-old victim complained with the police on Monday evening, asserting that his son was coerced into chanting religious slogans by a group of minors.

According to the father, while returning home around 9:30 pm, his son greeted some individuals with ‘Jai Shri Ram’. Shortly after, the boy was confronted by a group who forced him to chant ‘Allah Hu Akbar’.

Authorities have initiated legal action against the five individuals for allegedly causing hurt to religious sentiments. Efforts are underway to locate the accused, with law enforcement utilizing CCTV footage to aid in their identification.

A senior official remarked that the incident involved minors and was a matter between children.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
